“Hopefully…” Player Drops Big Hint About Summer Transfer Which Could Earn Rangers £1.2M

Former Rangers loanee Malik Tillman says he is hoping to complete a permanent move to PSV Eindhoven at the end of the season.

The American international joined the Dutch club on loan from Bayern Munich last year, but there is an option to buy the player for £12m in the deal. Asked about his future on Tuesday night, Tillman said:

“For me, it always comes down to playing time or prospects. Hopefully next summer I will look back on the second season in which I regularly played at a high level after being at Rangers last year. That’s how I would like to see it continue.”

After paying compensation to keep Tillman last summer, Bayern also agreed to give the Gers 10% of any future sale.

It means that, if the midfielder does finalise his transfer to PSV, Phillipe Clement‘s side will stand to earn around £1.2m.

Tillman has had a good season in the Netherlands

Since moving to the Eredivisie, the 21-year-old has scored 5 goals and provided 8 assists in 26 appearances.

Tillman’s latest goal involvement came in the Champions League round of 16 tie against Borussia Dortmund, winning the penalty that Luuk de Jong scored from to draw the game level at 1-1.

How could Rangers use the money?

Mohamed Diomande was brought in on an initial loan deal from FC Nordsjaelland during the January transfer window but the Light Blues have an obligation to buy the Ivorian for €5m (£4.3m) at the end of the season.

That is not a small sum to pay so you would think that any money raised from Tillman’s move would be put towards securing the services of the midfielder.

Diomande has had a good start to life at Ibrox, getting off the mark with a howitzer to help his team seal a 3-0 victory against St Johnstone on Sunday.
