Agent Of Argentinian Wonderkid Speaks Out Amid Rangers Transfer Speculation

No club has made an offer for Rangers target Luca Langoni, according to the Boca Juniors winger’s agent.

Reports in the English media claimed that the Gers, Sevilla, Nice and Fulham were all interested in signing the Argentine this month but, speaking about his client’s future, Carlos Censi said:

“Luca is happy, he took off the injury backpack at the end of last year with the parties. This year he is with everything. There were no offers from Europe. Just some surveys and approaches. We have our heads in Boca. This year it has to be Luca’s, physically, technically and mentally, to continue gaining minutes in the First Division.”

The links to Langoni were somewhat surprising, considering that his season with Boca was plagued by injury. He was sidelined for the best part of three months with a torn muscle and finished the campaign with only 8 league starts.

Sima’s injury could force Rangers into a late bid for a winger

Having already loaned out Sam Lammers, losing Abdallah Sima to injury was the last thing that manager Philippe Clement needed.

The Senegalese international injured his thigh playing for his country at the African Cup of Nations and he could be sidelined for some time. In that context, the rumours about Langoni made a bit more sense.

Who could be targeted instead of Langoni?

It is believed that the Light Blues do hold an interest in Vitesse Arnhem winger Million Manhoef. The Dutchman could be deemed surplus to requirements after his club signed Adrian Mazilu from Brighton on loan.

However, Manhoef would still cost £2.5m. With the club already expected to spend up to £4.5m on FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Mohamed Diomande, it is difficult to see how they could afford another big purchase this month. Recruiting someone on a temporary basis, until Sima returns to fitness, could be the way to go.
