REPORT: Five EPL Clubs On Alert As Rangers Slash Top Star’s Asking Price To 5M

Rangers are prepared to sell midfielder Joe Aribo for £5m next summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract, according to Allnigeriasoccer.com.

The website, who claimed back in December that the 25-year-old is “not interested” in extending his current deal with the Bears, now reports that the Nigerian international’s asking price has been “reduced” from £10m.

It is believed that up to five English Premier League teams are keeping tabs on Aribo’s situation, including Crystal Palace, whose sporting director Dougie Freedman was spotted at the Old Firm derby earlier this month.

All Nigeria Soccer also say that former Gers boss Steven Gerrard is keen on bringing him to Aston Villa, while Brentford, Watford and Southampton are the other teams interested in the player.

Journalist Chris Jack has recently raised concerns about the Scottish champions’ ability to match the wage demands of players like Aribo and, with his current deal set to expire in under eighteen months’ time, the club will have to make a decision on the Nigerian’s future in the summer.
