Rangers are interested in signing Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, according to reports in England.
The Light Blues have been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old’s performances during his time on loan at Bolton Wanderers, and they are considering whether to make an offer for the shot-stopper when the transfer window opens.
Trafford is building himself a reputation south of the border, having been given his first cap for England’s Under 21s in a European Championship qualifier against Kosovo back in June. He was then handed his second start in a friendly versus Germany a few months ago.
Gers boss Michael Beale has reiterated that he isn’t looking to bring in a new keeper in January, but it appears that Trafford is a player who is being seriously considered as a target.
With Allan McGregor nearing his 41st birthday, and Jon McLaughlin not getting any younger himself, recruiting a fresh face between the sticks is certainly something that has to be looked at.
