Rangers Set For Battle To Keep 28 Year Old Defender As West Ham Weigh Up Offer

West Ham are interested in signing Rangers centre-back Connor Goldson, according to reports in the English media.

The 28-year-old’s current deal at Ibrox expires at the end of next season, and it appears the Hammers may look to take advantage of the situation by making a bid in the summer.

Goldson has yet to open talks over a contract extension but the Gers are almost certain to start negotiations with the defender once the Scottish club have sealed league title number 55.

The Englishman has been part of defence which has let in just nine goals in the Premiership, with the centre-half having not missed a single league match so far this campaign.

West Ham could potentially tempt Goldson with the wages that they can offer but it is hard to imagine the player wanting to walk away from a team who are poised to win more trophies over the coming years.
