Ligue One club Lille will challenge Rangers for KV Oostende striker Fashion Sakala, according to the Daily Record.
The Zambian international has scored 13 goals this season and he’s reportedly been watched “extensively” by the French side in recent weeks. It is thought they could make a move to sign the player on a pre-contract agreement.
Sakala’s current deal with KV expires in June and he is free to talk to other clubs, but the 23-year-old did say last week that he was open to staying at his current team, rather than moving elsewhere.
In terms of Rangers’ interest, the Light Blues are believed to have kept tabs on the forward for a while but they have not yet made an approach to sign him up ahead of next season.
There are question marks over whether manager Steven Gerrard needs another striker, considering he already has the likes of Kemar Roofe, Alfredo Morelos, Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe available to him.
