Rangers’ Move For £11m Rated Czech Star Will Only Go Ahead On One Condition

Rangers will need to wait to seal the signing of Burnley forward Matej Vydra on loan, according to reports on the Scottish media.

The Light Blues are said to be confident of sealing a move for the Czech international but Burnley will only sanction the transfer if they can find a replacement for him before the transfer window closes.

Vydra is Rangers’ no.1 target to provide cover for Jermain Defoe. The 37-year-old picked up a calf injury in the 2-0 win over Ross County on Wednesday night and he could be out for several weeks.

A bid for Hibernian striker Florian Kamberi was mooted, and the former Swiss Under 21 international has reportedly even told his club that he wants to move to Ibrox, but it appears Vydra is the Gers’ main priority.

The 27-year-old has found game time hard to come by since making the £11m move to Burnley in the summer of 2018.  He has made just one start this campaign, but he did score 21 goals for Derby in the Championship just two seasons ago.
