Rangers Could Be Set To Sign TWO Players Before The Window Shuts

Rangers are closing in on the signing of Racing Genk midfielder Ianis Hagi, according to the Scottish Sun. The Light Blues are looking to secure the 21-year-old on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Hagi is the son of Romanian legend Gheorge Hagi, but despite being signed by Genk for £4m in the summer, he could be offloaded by the Belgian club after just six months, having not started a match since late November.

The playmaker has scored three goals and provided four assists in 19 appearances this campaign, and he could offer Gers boss Steven Gerrard some more creativity in the middle of the park.

The Scottish Sun also report, however, that Hagi may not be the only signing before the transfer window shuts tomorrow night. A new striker could also be brought in following the injury sustained by Jermain Defoe in the 2-0 win over Ross County.

The veteran forward had to be taken off just after the hour mark with a calf injury, and Gerrard says he is waiting for the results of a scan before deciding whether to delve into the transfer market for a replacement.
