Rangers Have Lined Up £500K Rated Ghanaian If Tavernier Leaves The Club

Rangers have been keeping tabs on Royal Antwerp right-back Daniel Opare, according to the Scottish Sun.

The Gers will, however, only make a bid for the Ghanaian international if they sell captain James Tavernier this summer.

Opare could be available for £500,000 as he has just one year left on his contract at Antwerp, but manager Steven Gerrard may face competition for his signature.

Newly-promoted EPL clubs Norwich City and Aston Villa are also tracking the 28-year-old, but the Villans are also said to be watching Tavernier.

Dean Smith’s side and Brighton are the two teams who are reportedly keen on the Rangers star, but so far, no bids have been made for the fullback.

Gerrard has already stated that they would be reluctant to sell Tavernier this summer but did emphasise that every player has their price.

Rangers are also believed to be looking for a new left-back, but they have distanced themselves from reports linking them with Swedish international Martin Olsson, who is available on a free transfer.
