Three English Teams Weighing Up Approaches For Rangers Talisman

Aston Villa, Brighton and West Brom are all interested in Rangers captain James Tavernier, according to reports in the English media.

The 27-year-old was superb last campaign, scoring a remarkable 17 goals and contributing 20 assists in 57 appearances for the Gers.

Villa are reportedly looking to strengthen in full back areas ahead of their return to the top flight of English football next season.

The Villans had initially identified Luton Town’s James Justin as a possible target but the League One star is set to move to Leicester City instead. The Midlands club have, therefore, decided to move on to other options, with Tavernier’s name now being considered.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has recently stated that he is keen to hold on to the right-back but he expects bids for the player due to how well the defender has played. The Gers boss even admitted that every player in his squad has a price.
