Rangers Fail In Attempts To Sign Another Liverpool Starlet On Loan

Rangers have failed in their attempt to sign Liverpool midfielder Herbie Kane on loan, according to Football Insider. The Reds have opted against loaning out the 20-year-old before the transfer window shuts.

Whether the Gers were actively still pursuing the former England Under 18 international, it seems doubtful. Manager Steven Gerrard recruited Andy King from Leicester City earlier this month and it’s unlikely that the Scottish side will be looking to add another central midfield player.

With Joe Aribo and Steven Davis having also arrived this summer, Rangers have seven central midfielders in the first-team squad, including Ryan Jack, Greg Docherty, Glen Kamara and Andy Halliday, not to mention Jason Holt and Graham Dorrans.

Even with the number of competitions that the Light Blues are playing in, Kane’s arrival would certainly have been one too many in the middle of the park. Gerrard has made ten signings in total so far this summer.
