Rangers are closing in on a loan deal for Leicester City midfielder Andy King, according to reports in the English media. The Welshman is said to be travelling to Glasgow today for talks about a potential switch.
Supporters on Twitter are not sure a move for the 30-year-old is a good idea, considering the number of midfielders manager Steven Gerrard already has at his disposal:
Cracking signing if true.

If he's injury free then it's a decent signing
We'll need enough players to win all 4 competitions this season ??— Stuart Smith (@stuart723) August 14, 2019
If Andy King signs then that’s another decent midfielder to rotate and give others a rest while maintaining a good level of first team players.

We seem to be shopping in Waitrose, while rest of Scottish football is trawling Lidl and Aldi ?⚪️?

He's decent but nothing more than a squad player imo. I think Jack, Davis, Kamara and Aribo are all superior. I'm a fan of Docherty so I hope King coming in doesn't reduce Greg's role this season

I don't see the need …..but I trust Gerrard implicitly

The argument can be made that you can’t have too many good players in your squad. However, it does seem like one area of the pitch where the club already have a number of different options.
Joe Aribo and Steven Davis have been added this summer to a midfield that already has Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara and Greg Docherty. Where King fits into things, it remains to be seen.
