Rangers Face Fierce Competition In Race To Secure Chelsea Teenager On Loan This Month

Rangers are among six clubs that are keen on signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher on loan, according to reports in England.

The 19-year-old has been playing for Charlton Athletic for the first six months of the season, having scored six goals and provided three assists in 25 appearances.

However, the Gers, along with Norwich, Burnley, West Brom, Swansea and Mark Warburton’s QPR have all registered an interest in Gallagher if Chelsea opt to recall the midfielder from the Addicks.

At the moment, the teenager’s loan spell at the Valley is due to end in May, but Frank Lampard’s team do have the option of cutting it short after six months.

Gallagher has been playing regularly, but that may not stop the Blues from moving him so he can gain experience at a higher level. With Rangers in the knockout rounds of the Europa League and competing for the Scottish Premiership title, it could be seen as a good destination for the midfielder.
