Gerrard Lays Out Key Condition That May See Him Sign One Player In January

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says he will only look to make a signing in January if the Light Blues manage to offload three or four players before the transfer window closes.

Andy King has already had his loan terminated while Eros Grezda has returned to NK Osijek on a free transfer, but the Gers boss anticipates more departures before the end of the month:

“I think, come the back end of January, you’ll probably see three or four go the other way. And, depending what happens in terms of those three or four, will depend on maybe add one. But there won’t be much activity in terms of incomings, that’s all I can say.”

Jamie Murphy, Greg Docherty, Glenn Middleton and Matt Polster are likely to be the four players that will be leaving if a club can be found.

Middleton is reportedly interesting St Mirren and Ross County after having his loan spell at Hibernian cut short. Docherty, meanwhile, is said to be the focus of attention from a number of English clubs with the 23-year-old having already rejected League One side Peterborough.

Jordan Jones has also be linked with a switch away from Ibrox in recent days with former club Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers both reportedly targeting the winger.
