Rangers Beat Chelsea And City As They Secure The Signing Of Nigerian Teenage Prodigy

Rangers have won the battle for teenager Thompson Ishaka, with the club confirming that the Nigerian has joined the Light Blues on a two-year contract.

The forward originally spent last summer on trial with the B team, but he was also being pursued by a number of other clubs across England and mainland Europe.

Chelsea, Manchester City and PSV Eindhoven were mentioned as potential destinations for Ishaka but the player ultimately decided to return to Auchenhowie.

The 18-year-old came through the Brooke House Football Academy but he was not with a club before the Gers snapped him up.

Ishaka will join David McCallum’s side for the rest of the season, and it will be interesting to see how he performs in the Lowland League. The attacker is known for his pace and he is generally best deployed off the left wing. Senior manager Michael Beale will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on his progress, considering he is a highly rated young talent.
