EPL Side Join Two Rivals In Battle To Secure Rangers Marksman On Free Transfer

Aston Villa have joined Galatasaray and Sevilla in the race to sign Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, according to reports in the Turkish media.

The Colombian international has yet to sign a new contract and, with his current deal set to expire at the end of May, he looks set to leave Ibrox on a free transfer.

Sevilla have been frequently mentioned as a potential suitor in recent weeks but manager Michael Beale has played down rumours that Morelos has signed a pre-contract agreement with the La Liga club.

Galatasaray have also been suggested as a possible option, although there have been no serious links outside Turkey up until now.

The news that Villa could enter the battle is, however, a new development. The English Premier League side sold Danny Ings to West Ham during the January transfer window and it could well be the case that they are considering Morelos as a cheap replacement.

The 26-year-old was actually pictured in an Everton shirt during the international break, although there have been no suggestions that a switch to Goodison Park is on the cards.
