“No Question…” Club Chairman Issues Hands Off Warning After Rangers Are Linked With 5.3M Summer Swoop

“No Question…” Club Chairman Issues Hands Off Warning After Rangers Are Linked With 5.3M Summer Swoop

FCSB owner Gigi Becali has denied reports that attacking midfielder Denis Olaru could make the switch to Rangers this summer.

There was a story in the Romanian media earlier this week that suggested the Light Blues were sending scouts to watch the 24-year-old in action ahead of a potential bid. However, when asked about the claims, Becali said:

“No one is leaving, there is no question.”

Considering FCSB are not the richest club in the world, it’s likely Becali’s tough stance is a negotiating position to get the most they can for Olaru.

It is believed that the Romanian side have slapped a €6m (£5.3m) valuation on the player, which is pretty steep for someone who has limited experience at the highest level.

Olaru has been capped nine times by his country but, for his club, he has only made eleven appearances in European competitions, and ten of those have come in the Europa Conference League this season. We shall see how this transfer story unfolds.
