Rangers will be scouting FCSB attacking midfielder Darius Olaru between now and the end of the season, according to Pro Sport.

The Romanian news outlet claims that manager Michael Beale is keen on recruiting the 24-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.

Olaru is an international teammate of Ianis Hagi, having been capped nine times at senior level, and he has been an instrumental figure in helping FCSB recover from a poor start to the season.

The Romanian club (formerly known as Steaua Bucharest) are currently third in the SuperLiga table, five points off league leaders Farul.

FCSB’s owner Gigi Becali is known to be a tough negotiator and Pro Sport report that he will hold out for a fee in the region of €6m (£5.3m) for Olaru. The Gers will be hoping to do a deal for a much lower price if they do decide to step up their interest this summer.
