McCann Criticises One Rangers Player Who “Just Disappeared” Against Liverpool

Former Rangers player Neil McCann was unhappy with Ryan Kent‘s second-half performance during the humbling 7-1 defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday evening.

Nobody on the pitch could hold their head up high after the Light Blues capitulated in the last 25 minutes at Ibrox but McCann said he had to single out Kent because he is supposed to be one of the team’s key players.

“Ryan Kent just disappeared. There was nothing. His performance will be scrutinised. But the whole second 45 minutes, I think Giovanni will make the whole squad watch that. It has to be analysed. A second half destruction like that, you need to see where it went wrong.”

Whether it was a lack of belief or low energy levels, the Gers’ performance simply fell off a cliff after the interval against Liverpool. Kent, like his teammates, really put a lot of work in in the first half, and the 25-year-old was causing problems down the left wing.

However, he did very little of note in the second period, and it was a surprise that manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst kept him on for as long as he did, before he was eventually replaced by Scott Wright.
