Journalist Reveals Turkish Super Lig Head Coach Is “Interested In Becoming” Rangers’ Next Manager

Alanyaspor head coach Francesco Farioli is “interested in becoming” Rangers manager, according to reporter Fraser Fletcher.

The journalist, who has written for the BBC, claims that the 33-year-old would be open to succeeding Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the dugout at Ibrox:

Farioli is a disciple of Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi, having worked under the fellow Italian at Sassuolo. He has never played the game at professional level and actually started out as a goalkeeping coach before becoming a manager.

Fatih Karagümrük S.K. were the first club to give him a shot in management. He was appointed in March last year, guiding his team to an eighth-place finish in the Turkish Super Lig. He moved on to Alanyaspor last December, with his side ending last season in fifth.

This campaign, things haven’t been going quite as well but they are midtable heading into the World Cup with 17 points from 14 matches.
