Rangers attacking midfielder Joe Aribo had a great game as the Light Blues saw off archrivals Celtic in the Scottish Cup round of 16 tie yesterday afternoon.
The Nigerian international played a key role in the build-up to the second goal. He ghosted past Hoops fullback Diego Laxalt before delivering the ball to Ryan Kent, whose shot went in off Jonjoe Kenny to put the Gers into an unassailable lead before half-time. Fans on Twitter were delighted to see Aribo performing so well in such a big game:

So much better in the front 3 than in midfield.

He could keep the ball in a phone box

The one blot on his copybook was when he gave away a penalty in the second half. Luckily for him, goalkeeper Allan McGregor was on hand to pull off a good save to deny Odsonne Edouard from twelve yards out.
Overall, though, it was a great demonstration of what Aribo can bring to the table when he has asked to play further forward by manager Steven Gerrard.
