Gerrard Eyeing Flanagan Replacement As Rangers Join Six Clubs In Race For £3m Rated Greek International

Rangers are one of a number of teams interested in Olympiakos defender Konstantinos Tsimikas, according to reports in the Turkish media.

The 23-year-old is also being pursued by the likes of Werder Bremen, Fiorentina, Nice, Rennes, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce after establishing himself as a regular first-team player this season.

Tsimikas is a left-back, and interest from the Light Blues would make sense, considering Jon Flanagan’s contract expires at the end of the season.

If they are going to bring in the Greek international as competition for Borna Barisic, though, he will cost a fair bit of money. Olympiakos are reportedly said to want at least €3.5m (£3m) for the player.

Tsimikas has a release of €8m (£6.8m) so the Greek club are seemingly keen on selling up, and with the amount of interest being shown in the fullback, it looks likely that he’ll depart either in January or in the summer.
