Barisic Compares Morelos To Juventus Star After Bagging Double For Rangers

Rangers left-back Borna Barisic was full of praise for striker Alfredo Morelos after the Colombian scored a brace of headers in the 2-2 draw against Feyenoord.

The defender says he has played alongside other top forwards, including Juventus’s Mario Mandzukic for Croatia, and he believes Morelos deserves to be mentioned in the same bracket:

“He’s on a really high level and he scored two nice goals with his head. I’ve played with good strikers for Croatia like Mario Mandzukic and Bruno Petkovic from Dinamo Zagreb.”

“I can’t single one of them out but they are really top players. It’s hard to compare because Alfredo and Mandzukic are two different type of players.”

“Alfredo can only get better in the future but right now he’s a top player who not only scores in almost every game but important goals in important games and I’m very happy for him.”

Morelos scored his second header from a Barisic cross to make it 2-1 on the night after equalising from a Ryan Kent delivery earlier in the second half.

The double means the Colombian international has now scored 24 goals in just 27 appearances at club level this season, in what is proving to be an incredible campaign in front of goal for the player.

Morelos is now only six behind the number he managed last campaign, despite the fact that we are not even in December yet. Gers fans will be hoping he gets on the scoresheet again this weekend when the Light Blues face Hearts.
