Douglas Park Reveals When A Major Cash Injection Into Rangers Could Be Announced

Rangers chairman Douglas Park has confirmed that new investment in the Scottish club could be announced within the next two months.

In a Q&A with the club’s website, Park was asked whether talks with Asia based businessman Stuart Gibson were still ongoing, and he replied:

“All of the potential new investors remain fully engaged and we will be in a position to announce something in the next couple of months.”

That will be a huge boost to the Gers considering the damage which the absence of football is likely to be having on the club’s finances.

Teams across Scotland have been struggling with their income due to the current global situation which means there is no money coming in from matchday revenue.

Rangers themselves have been continually questioned over a £10m shortfall in their finances but it seems fresh investment will likely end any speculation about the health of the club.

Even after any cash injection, though, it is still likely to be a tough year financially due to circumstances which all clubs are currently facing.
