Boyd Makes Prediction About Rangers’ Chances Of Swaying Opinion At EGM

Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd does not believe that the Bears will manage to get 75% of clubs to vote in favour of a second internal investigation at Tuesday’s EGM.

The Light Blues will need the support of 32 teams in total in order to force the SPFL into conducting another probe, which would uncover any wrongdoing into the process which has effectively led to the end of the league season.

Boyd, however, thinks Rangers will fail to meet that threshold and he feels it could have lasting consequences for the Scottish game:

“I don’t think Rangers will secure enough votes at Tuesday’s EGM to force a second independent inquiry into the voting row. I’ve no doubt there will be a lot of people, at a lot of clubs, who will have taken notice of the evidence uncovered by Gers.”

“There are definitely questions that need to be answered. But once again when it comes to Scottish football, no one is caring as long as they get their slice of the pie.”

Boyd’s prediction about the EGM is not a surprising one and most Gers supporters are not expecting the club to succeed in their attempts next week.

The accusations which have been flying between Rangers and the SPFL has certainly caused a lot of rancour and there are major doubts over whether rifts can be healed following such a contentious period.
