With Rangers boss Michael Beale under threat of the sack, the Gers could turn to Birmingham City manager John Eustace to replace him, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.
Following damaging defeats against PSV in the qualifying stage of the Champions League and a dismal loss in the Old Firm derby against Celtic, Light Blues fans have begun to call for Beale’s sacking.
He has led the club into the new season after a disappointing transfer window. Players such Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent left the club and inadequate replacements, such as Danilo and Sam Lammers, were brought in to plug the gaps.
Should Rangers appoint Eustace in the event of Beale’s removal, it is likely that Birmingham will look to replace him with Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney as their new head coach.
Would John Eustace be a good fit for the job?
Should Eustace be given the Rangers job in the event that Beale is sacked, it is unlikely to spark major excitement within the Gers’ fanbase. In many ways, he is a similar manager to Beale – he is currently the manager of a midtable Championship team and has no experience of managing a team in major European competitions.
His pedigree is somewhat limited – he was even reportedly rejected by Doncaster Rovers in the past [via The72] – but this does not mean he cannot be a success at the Ibrox Stadium.
His job at Birmingham is just his second head coach role in football. Previously, he was manager of Kidderminster Harriers in the National League, who he managed from 2016 to 2018.
Additionally, he has also enjoyed a stint as assistant manager of QPR and was the assistant manager of the Republic of Ireland for a brief period in 2022.

This is the question that everyone should be asking. It does not seem that Rangers will sack Beale any time soon, but if their form does not improve, his removal will be inevitable.
The pressure is certainly all on Beale at the moment. Rangers’ next competitive game, against St. Johnstone, could be a make-or-break fixture for the former QPR manager.
