Barry Ferguson Names Two Returning Rangers Stars Who Could “Hurt” Celtic Tomorrow

Former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson is hoping both Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent will be back in contention for the Old Firm derby tomorrow afternoon.

Neither player was sidelined for the 0-0 draw versus Alashkert due to the virus, and Ferguson is optimistic that the pair can make a big impact on their return to the team against Celtic:

“They have players who can hurt teams. Kemar Roofe should be back after serving his suspension on Thursday so that adds another dimension. Ryan Kent, we are led to believe, missed the game through injury, not COVID, so could be back and he was Celtic’s tormentor in chief last year.”

Roofe has had limited game time this season for various reasons, but he has still scored three goals in the three appearances he has made, so you would back him to play an important role for the Light Blues in the derby.

However, Kent’s form and fitness are more of a concern. Assistant manager Gary McAllister claims the 25-year-old is managing a niggling injury and it looks as though that may have played a part in his poor start to the campaign.

Whether the rest has done the Englishman the world of good, we shall see when he lines up for the Gers at Ibrox tomorrow.
