Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie will start in goal when the Light Blues face FC Alashkert in the Europa League this evening.
With both Allan McGregor and Jon McLaughlin having not travelled with the squad to Armenia, the 23-year-old will be given his chance to impress in goal.
Although not every supporter on Twitter is confident about McCrorie’s ability, the majority are hoping that his quality will shine through:
Having not seen much of him beforehand, thought he was excellent in pre-season. Big opportunity for him.

I’m sure he’ll step up, watched him a few times in the reserves few years back and was impressed. Similar to the chance Mcgregor got under Le Guen, let’s hope he takes it??…

If this is the keeper we have to go with I have every confidence in him. This is his chance.

Not the tallest but neither were Klos or Goram.

McCrorie is also likely to be in goal for the Old Firm derby against Celtic on Sunday, with McGregor and McLaughlin having to self-isolate, along with a number of other players.
Manager Steven Gerrard will be missing from the dugout for the two matches as well, with assistant Gary McAllister having to take charge of proceedings from the touchline.
It’s certainly not ideal preparation ahead of two huge games, but fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that players like McCrorie will step up to the plate.
