Agent Speaks Out On Rangers’ Reported Interest In Sierra Leone Marksman

The agent of Sint-Truiden forward Mohamed Buya Turay has refused to dampen speculation linking his client with a move to Rangers in the summer.

The 25-year-old is not in his current club’s first-team plans after returning from a loan spell with Swedish club Djurgarden in December, where he scored 15 goals in 29 appearances

When asked about potential interest from other clubs, Buya Turay’s representative Numukeh Tunkara said there were a lot of teams looking to sign the Sierra Leone international:

“The interest in Buya Turay has been great and there has been a lot of speculation, but right now he belongs to Sint-Truiden and whatever happens this summer, we’ll deal with it then.”

Tunkara was then asked specifically about Rangers, but he refused to be drawn on whether the Scottish club are one of the interested parties:

“It’s difficult to comment on rumours and speculations. I don’t want to comment. It’s neither good for the club or the player’s career.”

Rangers have plucked players from obscurity in the past and made them into stars, but a move for Buya Turay would still be a gamble. He has performed well in Sweden but beyond that, he is unproven at a higher level despite already being in his mid-twenties.
