Agent Reveals Major Decision Has Been Made On 5M Rangers Player’s Future

The agent of Rangers fullback Ridvan Yilmaz has delivered a defiant message about the defender’s future at Ibrox.

Following his arrival from Besiktas in the summer, the Turkish international has struggled for game time, with Borna Barisic remaining first choice on the left-hand side of defence.

With the Gers having shelled out close to £5m on Yilmaz, questions have been raised about why he hasn’t played more regularly. There was even some speculation that the player could return to Turkey on loan but his agent, Necdet Ergezen, has now put those rumours to bed:

“It should not be forgotten that Ridvan’s transfer process was not very easy this summer. This is a project. We stand behind this, both me and the player. We don’t want to return Ridvan to Turkey after 5 months.”

Considering Michael Beale is now the manager, every squad member should start with a clean slate, so Yilmaz will be hoping to grab his opportunity and impress the new boss.

The 21-year-old’s task will likely be made easier by the fact that Barisic won’t be available for the match against Hibs next week, due to the fact that Croatia have qualified for the World Cup semi-final. It means Yilmaz should have a chance to shine.
