Rangers put in a top-class performance to dispatch Porto at Ibrox last night, with the 2-0 result moving them joint top of their Europa League group on seven points.
One of the key players in the win yesterday was centre-back Connor Goldson, whose solid defensive display helped the Gers keep out the Portuguese giants before sealing the win.
Supporters on Twitter were full of praise for the 26-year-old following the game:
Goldson absolutely immense

Goldson was a rock. Special mention for Kamara, seems at his best playing better opposition. breaks up the play, drives it forward, consistent passing. Plays big games well but struggles more against the more brutal SPFL teams, almost like a Hemdani

Goldson’s performances this season have not always been good, but he is striking up a decent centre-half partnership with Filip Helander over the last few games.
Since the Swede became a regular fixture in the side, the Light Blues have conceded just twice in five games, with four wins and one draw, but Goldson has certainly not been the minor partner.
The Englishman was superb yesterday evening and he will want to continue his good form when Rangers face Livingston on Sunday.
