‘Absolutely Baffling’ ‘Bizarre Choice’ Rangers Fans Frustrated By One Decision Van Bronckhorst Made Against PSV

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s decision to send on Scott Wright as a second-half substitute against PSV has left supporters rather bewildered.

Considering Rabbi Matondo had performed well against St Johnstone at the weekend, fans on Twitter could not understand why Wright was given the nod to replace Malik Tillman on Tuesday night instead:

Wright’s decision-making after he came on was pretty disappointing and he hardly justified the faith shown in him by van Bronckhorst.

When he is on form, the 25-year-old is a decent ball carrier and he can take on opposing fullbacks, but he has not shown anything so far this campaign that justifies being given chances ahead of other players.

Matondo, in particular, warrants more game time, and you’d have to say that, even though he has been given the cold shoulder by van Bronckhorst, Fashion Sakala would also merit being selected ahead of Wright. For some reason, though, the Gers boss has kept picking the former Aberdeen player.
