Journalist Claims Rangers Have Been Left “Surprised” By 3M Transfer Claim

Rangers are “surprised” by reports linking Fashion Sakala with a move to English Championship side Burnley, according to Fraser Fletcher.

The journalist says the Gers have not received an inquiry from the Clarets, despite claims that Vincent Kompany’s side are lining up a £3m bid for the Zambian international:

Sakala has certainly fallen out of favour under manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, having failed to feature in the Light Blues’ first four matches this campaign.

The 25-year-old returned to the bench for the 3-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise on Tuesday night but he wasn’t even in the matchday squad for the league fixture against Kilmarnock last weekend.

There is a lot of competition for places following the summer arrivals of Antonio Colak, Rabbi Matondo and Malik Tillman, who have all moved above Sakala in the pecking order. If an offer does eventually arrive from Burnley, there is a chance that the forward could be allowed to leave.
