Michael Beale’s Rangers may be out of the title race this season – nevertheless, they will be preparing to take on a tough Aberdeen outfit at the weekend./
The Gers are set to be without Tom Lawrence, Nmandi Ofoborh, Steven Davis, Filip Helander and Kemar Roofe for their game on Sunday – Connor Goldson is also a doubt, after he was absent for the Light Blues’ last game against St. Mirren.
In that game, Rangers won by a scoreline of 5-2, despite the scores being level at the break. The Gers’ goals on the day were scored by Todd Cantwell, Fashion Sakala, Alfredo Morelos and Scott Arfield, as they recorded a dominant victory at the Ibrox Stadium.
Aberdeen, meanwhile, had to scrap for a 1-0 win away at relegation-threatened Ross County in their last SPFL encounter. The Reds scored early on, thanks to a strike from Luis ‘Duk’ Lopes, then dug in to hold to their three points – they still sit in third place, five points above Hearts.
The last time the two teams met, back in December, Rangers picked up a dramatic 3-2 away win after Scott Arfield scored twice in added time. Just as the game looked to be slipping through the Gers’ fingers, the Canadian popped up to give them a memorable victory.
