Aberdeen, meanwhile, had to scrap for a 1-0 win away at relegation-threatened Ross County in their last SPFL encounter. The Reds scored early on, thanks to a strike from Luis ‘Duk’ Lopes, then dug in to hold to their three points – they still sit in third place, five points above Hearts.

The last time the two teams met, back in December, Rangers picked up a dramatic 3-2 away win after Scott Arfield scored twice in added time. Just as the game looked to be slipping through the Gers’ fingers, the Canadian popped up to give them a memorable victory.
