Sheffield United midfielder John Fleck says he would be open to returning to Rangers before the end of his career:
“I’m very happy at Sheffield United and the longer that continues, great. But if the chance came further down the line to go back to Rangers I would love it to be honest.”
The 28-year-old left Ibrox in 2012 to pursue a career in England. He spent four years at Coventry before moving to the Blades in 2016. He has since become an influential figure at Bramall Lane following the Yorkshire club’s promotion to the Premier League.
Supporters on Twitter would like to see Fleck have a second spell with the Bears, although some acknowledge that the Scottish club would not be able to afford him currently:
Would be a great bit of business imo

Fleck’s contract at Sheffield United expires in 2023 and with the midfielder turning 29 in August, he would be close to 32 by the time he could be available on a free transfer.
The Scottish international is certainly going through a purple patch at the moment, and if he keeps up his form in the next few years, there will certainly be more calls for him to return in the future.
