“Worst Ever Player To Play For Chelsea…” Beale Lashes Out At Pundit Who He Won’t Even Address By Name

Rangers boss Michael Beale has not held back in criticising Chris Sutton following the BT Sport‘s pundit’s latest remarks.

Sutton questioned Beale’s sportsmanship, claiming the goal that Partick Thistle were allowed to score against the Gers in the Scottish Cup, would not have taken place in an Old Firm derby. Beale has, though, hit back with a stinging rebuke of his own:

“Growing up, I was a fan of Chelsea. So there is one pundit around here who is the worst ever player to play for Chelsea. That is why I won’t mention his name because I try to forget him.”

It should be said that Sutton is known for his outspoken remarks about Rangers so it is slightly surprising that Beale has decided to speak out, particularly as the pundit was probably hoping for a reaction of this kind.

Beale may feel that his integrity has been called into question and that he needed to put the record straight. His comments about Sutton’s Chelsea career are pretty accurate, though.

Before joining Celtic, he had a brief stint at Stamford Bridge, where he scored just three times in 39 matches despite costing £10m.
