“We Will See, You Never Know…” Rangers Defender Drops Transfer Hint As He Nears The Final Year Of His Contract

Rangers fullback Borna Barisic has refused to rule out a potential move away from Ibrox.

The Croatian international is closing in on the final twelve months of his contract with the Light Blues and, when asked about his future, the defender replied:

“We will see. You never know, I never say I will stay or I will leave. You never know and then people say you lied. I don’t want to talk about that. The most important thing is I’m very focused, very happy.”

Barisic’s form has improved since the appointment of Michael Beale as manager but, at 30 years of age, the left-back is certainly not a young player anymore.

If he is demanding a sizeable wage rise, the board and Director of Football Ross Wilson may think twice about giving him an extension.

Barisic hasn’t had a great deal of competition for his place this season, with Ridvan Yilmaz having been sidelined for a number of months with a hamstring injury that the sustained back in October. The Turkish international is back available now so it will be interesting to see whether he can impress Beale and make his case for more starting opportunities.
