‘Time To Move On For Both Parties’ ‘It’s For The Best’ Fans React As Beale Speaks Out On Rangers Star’s Future

Rangers manager Michael Beale has hinted that Alfredo Morelos will be allowed to leave Ibrox on a free transfer this summer if he can’t perform to a higher standard.

While Beale expressed a desire to keep Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack at the club, he said Morelos’s future is less certain:

“Alfredo’s situation is slightly different. He’s been at the club a long time and I need to see a little bit more from him day in, day out. When he’s played, he’s been fine, but I want some more energy in the final third. Can he provide that? If he can, he’d be a better option than he has been in the last few months. I just think that’s fair, everything I’m saying here, I’ve told him to his face as well.”

Fans on Twitter believe Beale’s comments suggest a parting of ways at the end of the season:

The writing does seem to be on the wall for Morelos. The Colombian has not started since the Scottish League Cup final last month, having fallen behind Antonio Colak in the pecking order.

Reading between the lines, it appears that Beale feels he has given the striker a fair number of chances to impress recently, but he hasn’t done enough to warrant the type of contract he is demanding.

Reports in Spain have claimed that Morelos may have already signed a pre-contract agreement with Sevilla. Whether that is true or not, the 26-year-old’s future looks to be away from Glasgow regardless.
