Tottenham Eye 28 Goal Rangers Star In Bid To Replace Harry Kane

Tottenham have entered the race for Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos, according to the Football Insider. The website claims that the English Premier League side are targeting the Colombian as a possible option to replace Harry Kane.

The England captain has undergone surgery on a hamstring injury, which will keep him out until at least April, and Spurs are planning on signing a new striker before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

Morelos is in red hot form, having scored 28 goals in 35 appearances this season, but the Gers have repeatedly stated that the 23-year-old will not be sold in January.

Outgoing chairman Dave King said that the Colombian international was valued in excess of £40m while manager Steven Gerrard has said he is worth even more than that.

Rangers want Morelos to spearhead their title challenge in the second half of the season, and with him being such a crucial player, Tottenham would have to come up with a pretty special offer in order to persuade the Scottish club into selling up.
