Rangers’ January star signing, Todd Cantwell, expressed frustration at the Light Blues’ defeat against Celtic at the weekend with a post on his Instagram page.
In the game against Celtic, Rangers lost by a score of 3-2 – however, it could have been 3-3, if not for a contentiously disallowed goal from Alfredo Morelos. Overall, the Gers played well, but succumbed to Celtic’s superior finishing and clinical nature.
For the caption of the post, Cantwell wrote: “The disappointment is real, we lost the game they didn’t win it. We continue to stick together and build in the right direction, this is a project and an exciting one. Stick together as one.”
Thos post currently has over 27,000 likes on Instagram. Among those who have liked the post include Nico Raskin, Antonio Colak and former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham. However, no one has left a comment on the post, as Cantwell has turned the comments off.
Cantwell himself struggled to make an impact on the game. It was not a fixture that particularly suits his style of play – a creative wide man, the former Norwich winger likes to be given time on the ball to pick out a pass. With a frenetic game like the Old Firm derby, this was never going to be the case.
Rangers’ two goals in the game were scored by defender James Tavernier – meanwhile, Celtic’s responses came through Jota and brace from Kyogo Furuhashi.
