‘The Best Of A Very Bad Bunch’ ‘Small Game Player’ Fans Fiercely Debate Whether Rangers Star Deserves To Be Named Player Of The Year

Rangers supporters have been discussing which first team player deserves to be crowned the club’s player of the year.

After a pretty poor season, the contenders are few and far between, but some fans on Twitter have rallied around Malik Tillman as the main candidate. Plenty of others are, however, far from convinced:

We can go through the entire squad, and there is only really a handful of players who deserve to be in contention. Captain James Tavernier would be another option, although his form has only improved in recent months.

While Tillman has had poor games, particularly in the Old Firm derbies, you can’t dispute his numbers. 12 goals and five assists in 37 appearances is not a bad return for his first season in Scottish football.

Whether those sorts of figures justify the club paying the £5m required to sign Tillman on a permanent basis, though, is another matter entirely.
