Miller Claims “Novelty” Of Playing For Rangers Could Wear Off On £5M Rated Midfielder Who May Not Stay At Ibrox

Ex-Rangers striker Kenny Miller is not convinced that Malik Tillman wants to remain at Ibrox on a permanent basis.

The 20-year-old is on loan until the end of the season, but the Gers have the option to buy the player for £5m. When asked for his thoughts on Tillman’s situation, Miller replied:

“I still think there is a lot to prove. It’s not just about ability, it’s about the transfer fee and for me there is another thing, I am not sure the boy maybe wants to stay. I don’t know if he will fancy Scottish football. The novelty of representing Celtic and Rangers wears off for some players so when you are playing in front of 50,000 and 60,000, going for cups, fighting for the league, that last day picking up the trophy, nothing better. But it’s not just all the glamour of Champions League when representing Celtic and Rangers”

Tillman has actually spoken out in recent weeks to say that he will have talks with both Beale and his parent club manager Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season.

Beale has reiterated that he wants to keep the American international in Glasgow, but the final decision will be down to the player.

It’s likely that, if he doesn’t get positive feedback from Tuchel, Tillman will opt to stay with Rangers, but Miller is right in thinking that the midfielder isn’t completely sold on the idea at the moment. We should find out more about his future over the next month or so.
