Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos will be available to face Hearts on Sunday evening, the club have confirmed.
The 25-year-old has been away with Colombia for their World Cup qualifiers, even though he didn’t feature in their matches against Peru and Argentina. He consequently missed the Old Firm derby on Wednesday.
Supporters on Twitter are happy to see Morelos back in contention but some feel that he shouldn’t have been absent for such a crucial game anyway, considering he wasn’t selected to play for his national team:
Thank goodness for that

Good news, now let’s win every game, watch them drop points and beat them at Ibrox before lifting 56. 🇬🇧

Agree. After the first game he should've been back.

What was the colombia manager playing at? morelos scored 5 goals in 6 games and he got called up just to not even be on the bench. that has cost us and we have went from 7 points clear to trailing by 1 point. im sure morelos wouldve had an impact in those games we underperformed

Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has certainly helped get the best out of Morelos since his appointment as manager and the absence of the Colombian against Celtic midweek was keenly felt.
The only positive about Morelos being away and not playing is that he should be well-rested, and hopefully, he can make an impression by getting on the scoresheet in a crucial match at Ibrox this weekend.
