Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could have his booking against Dundee United upgraded to a red card, according to reports.
The Colombian was involved in a clash with United’s Mark Connolly but referee Steven McLean deemed the incident only worthy of a yellow card at the time.
However, SFA compliance officer Clare Whyte can upgrade cards in exceptional circumstances and a decision is expected to be made today on whether Morelos faces a ban. Supporters on Twitter are not happy about the possibility that the forward could be suspended:
Surely not? ????

We should not be in the least surprised. Rangers against the rest.

STV made a point of covering it on tonight’s news. Can’t say it comes as a surprise. He could have been sent off during the game and given us real problems.

Whatever the issues are surrounding the SFA’s handling of such incidents, Morelos’s ill-discipline has reared its ugly head once again. Although the 24-year-old has cleaned up his act in the last two years, incidents like the one on Sunday still remain an issue.
Whether he’ll be available to face St Mirren in the Betfred Cup quarter-final tomorrow evening, we shall have to wait and see.
