SPFL Weigh Up Significant Overhaul To Loan System That Will Impact Rangers

The SPFL may sanction up to two loan deals between clubs in the top flight, while allowing four more to be loaned out to each lower league team, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claims that the proposals are seriously being considered, which would double the current quota as Scottish football looks to tackle some of the challenges it faces in the light of the global health crisis.

Rangers had their proposal for B teams in the lower leagues knocked back not too long ago but this new plan would at least allow some of the club’s younger prospects to play a good standard of football in the Championship or below.

The Gers are one of a number of teams who have already withdrawn from the reserve league ahead of the new season, with there now being doubts over whether the competition will go ahead at all.

In terms of senior players, Robby McCrorie has already been loaned out to Livingston, but if SPFL approves these new proposals, it would also allow one other Gers player to join the Lions if there was interest.
