Southampton are considering a £3m bid for Rangers winger Scott Arfield in the summer, according to the Mirror.
The 30-year-old joined the Scottish club from Burnley on a free transfer last July and has had a good first season at Ibrox.
Arfield has been one of manager Steven Gerrard’s top performers with the Scottish born Canadian having scored 11 goals and contributed seven assists in 42 appearances this season.
One of his best displays came against Motherwell last time out, bagging himself a hat-trick in a 3-0 away win.
Southampton’s interest in Arfield is reportedly at the behest of their Director of Football Operations Ross Wilson who worked with the midfielder when he came through the ranks at Falkirk.
His move to Rangers was the first time he had returned to Scotland in eight years having spent most of his career in England. The wide man left the Bairns in 2010 for Huddersfield before making the switch to Burnley in 2013.
