Sky Sports Pundit Names NINE Rangers Stars In His Combined Old Firm Starting XI

Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd has named nine Rangers players and just two Celtic stars in his combined starting eleven ahead of the Old Firm derby this weekend.

Writing in his column for the Scottish Sun, the former Gers’ striker opted for Allan McGregor, James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Borna Barisic in his backline.

For the midfield, Boyd went with Glen Kamara and Steven Davis but he also selected Hoops star David Turnbull, who he says deserves to be in the starting eleven due to his recent form.

Up front, the pundit has gone for Ryan Kent on the left-wing, Kemar Roofe on the right with Odsonne Edouard through the middle. The Frenchman hasn’t been in the greatest of form this season but, explaining his inclusion ahead of the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Boyd said the 22-year-old is still a “quality player.”

Considering the Light Blues have won all but two of their 21 league matches this season, there will be many fans out there who think Rangers should have had a clean sweep of the whole eleven.
