Rangers face Malmo in a crucial Champions League qualifier this evening, but supporters are worried by the makeup of the team’s midfield.
John Lundstram joined from Sheffield United on a free transfer earlier in the summer but his last two performances have left a lot to be desired.
Debating who should start against Malmo tonight, many fans on Twitter are in agreement that Lundstram should not be included in the starting eleven:
Lundstram has shown nothing so far to suggest a start

I’d play anyone before Lundstram

Not yet convinced with Lundstram, I know he needs time to settle in, but tomorrow we need to get back to high tempo passing and sharp movements, too many 10 yard square balls played at a snails pace

I’d bin lundstrum for arfield

Lundstrum has been poor last 2 games

No way in a million years Lundstram would start for me. He has been off pace and brings nothing to the party, we need more than sideway and backward passes.

Glen Kamara’s three-match European ban means Lundstram is more likely to start due to the Finnish international’s absence but manager Steven Gerrard does have other options he could consider.
Scott Arfield would be the obvious choice to come into the side at Lundstram’s expense, with Joe Aribo moving centrally and Ianis Hagi taking the Nigerian’s place on the right-wing.
It may be harsh to drop Lundstram so swiftly, but with Champions League football at stake, you need your most in-form players on the pitch, and the 27-year-old is simply not on his game currently.
