Serie A Club Plot Deal For Rangers Frontman But He Isn’t Their Top Target

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is being eyed as a possible target by Italian club Bologna, according to reports in the Scottish media.

The Serie A side do have good relations with the Light Blues after selling Filip Helander to the Gers for £3.5m in the summer but their interest in Morelos won’t be so well received.

At the moment, it appears Bologna are focused on signing Atalanta forward Musa Barrow instead, but if their attentions do turn towards the Rangers striker, they are likely to be given short shrift.

Amid reports of interest from Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, manager Steven Gerrard said he would not even sell Morelos for £40m, and Bologna’s transfer budget is unlikely to stretch to a number that would be acceptable to the Gers.

They are expected to bid around €15m (£12.8m) for Barrow, and if they did look to offer a similar amount for Morelos, it would almost certainly be rejected.

The Colombian international has been a key player for Rangers this campaign, having scored 28 goals in 35 appearances.
