Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho and Manchester City Director of Football Txiki Begiristain have both enquired about Rangers midfielder Ianis Hagi, according to Giovani Becali.
The Romanian agent says the 21-year-old is poised to make a move to Ibrox in the summer, but he is being monitored by English clubs:
“I have been asked personally by Jose Mourinho and Txiki Begiristain about Ianis Hagi. They wanted to know about him and how he was getting on. There’s a lot of top people in European football who know all about Ianis and what he can do. I happen to think Ianis is on a good plan at Rangers. I think Rangers will sign him.”
Fans on Twitter doubt whether City or Spurs would make a bid for Hagi in the summer anyway:
Get him signed, rip it up for us for 2 years then sell for £25m+

It doesn’t matter it’s us that cash in on any move as long as we activate the option to buy

Mourinho would destroy his career. If the mercenaries buy him they might well loan him back to us for two years!

He's no where good enough for City so I doubt that.

Hagi’s future is very much in Rangers’ hands as they agreed a purchase option with Racing Genk for the Romanian international as part of the loan agreement when he signed in January.
The Light Blues can snap up the playmaker for £4.5m in the summer, and every indication suggests that the Scottish club will take up their chance to buy him.
Whether they would consider selling him for a profit straight away, as some supporters suggest, though, it seems unlikely but anything can happen in football.
